Frequently Asked Questions
What does shipping cost without a membership?
Standard shipping is $5.99. Club members aren't charged that fee, and their free shipping arrives in 3 to 7 business days after processing within the continental US.
How long do I have to return an online order?
Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, to the warehouse or a Books-A-Million store. Holiday purchases made November 1 through December 31, 2026 can be returned through January 31, 2027. Shipping and handling aren't refunded.
What does the member discount exclude?
It excludes gift cards, eBooks and other digital content, hardware and electronics, Lego, collectible trading cards, Elf on the Shelf products, and gift wrapping fees.
Do Marketplace items get free shipping?
No. New and Used Marketplace items still carry a $3.99 per item fee, and they're excluded from the standard return policy.
What is the store return window?
Store purchases need a receipt and go back to a store within 14 days, or 30 days for Club members. They can't be returned to the online warehouse.
