Frequently Asked Questions
Does U-Haul have a military discount?
There is no official military discount. For personally procured or DITY moves, U-Haul points to affordable truck and trailer rates, one free month of storage, free standard shipping on supplies, and discounts on one way rentals.
How do I cancel a U-Haul reservation?
Cancel by the day before your move date, either online by looking up your order or through your pickup location. U-Box reservations can be canceled with no fee.
What is the $50 reservation guarantee?
If U-Haul cannot honor a confirmed reservation and no new plan is agreed, it pays $50 and still works to get you equipment. Dollies and pads are not covered.
What are the age and license requirements?
Renters must be 18 for trucks and 16 for trailers, with a government issued driver's license. Digital licenses are not accepted.
Why was I charged for extra rental periods?
Returning equipment after the due date and time on your contract can add extra rental periods to the estimated charges, at the location's discretion.
